The AFaktive partner AWAF (Association for the promotion of agroforestry in Wallonia and Brussels)<\/a> organised on the 8th<\/sup> April the first leg of an intense week of field visits and conferences on the theme of regenerative hydrology, i.e. the science of regenerating water cycles through land-use planning (https:\/\/hydrologieregenerative.be\/<\/a>). On this occasion, AWAF welcomed Samuel Bonvoisin \u2013 agronomy engineer, consultant and trainer in regenerative systems \u2013 to the CTA (Center for agronomical technologies) of Str\u00e9e (Belgium).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his introduction to the conference entitled “Could we harvest water?”, G\u00e9raud de Streel \u2013 project engineer at AWAF \u2013 explained the crucial role Agroforestry plays in restoring water cycles. These issues are, in fact, critical to maintaining and restoring the performance and resilience of our systems, and particularly our farms. This is one of the keys to ensuring that farming remains profitable for producers and able to cope with the shocks, particularly climatic ones, that are multiplying and undermining the profitability of our production systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farmers and experts are well aware of this reality, as demonstrated by the large number of people in attendance (the venue was full).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening, the event focused on AFaktive and its role for hydrology. This event was part of the cycle of conferences and field meetings organised by \u201cHydrologie R\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative Belgique\u201d (Regenerative Hydrology Belgium).
