In March 2025, AFaktive’s coordinator, the Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS), was contacted by the Rhein-Zeitung newspaper. Project leader Jörg Böhmer was interviewed in the framework of an article about AFaktive and agroforestry. The journalist was also interested in visiting an agroforestry site and interviewing the farmer. Long-standing IfaS partner Hans Pfeffer agreed to be interviewed at his Bannmühle farm.
The resulting article, which was published on 7th May 2025, describes the many benefits of agroforestry, particularly concerning water management and climate adaptation. The full article can be read below.
The enquiry from the Rhein-Zeitung shows that the interest in agroforestry is growing – not only among farmers sector, but also among the general public. We would like to thank the Rhein-Zeitung for this article and hope that it will help raise awareness on agroforestry.
