For the third time after the interventions of the Head of Department Thomas Anton & Managing Director Prof. Dr. Peter Heck, the IfaS institute (Trier University of Applied Sciences) contributed to the highly successful event series ‘Green Heat for Villages and Cities’ organised by the Agency for Renewable Resources (Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V., FNR) with a highly topical and, above all, solution-oriented topic from the AGROfloW project.
Using the example of agroforestry systems, Frank Wagener showed in his keynote speech how villages with their agricultural and forestry businesses can jointly generate added value by cultivating renewable raw materials. Cooperation in rural areas allows for smart investments in business concepts that benefit citizens, agricultural/forestry businesses and the state alike. This topic, along with two other keynote speeches on the heat transition and the future prospects for bioenergy villages, attracted more than 200 participants to the online event: ‘Success and business concepts for the transition from farmer to energy producer’.
