The biodiversity monitoring within the AFaktive project has been started. The project team installed pitfall traps and audiomoths at the project site Hofgut Neumühle educational and experimental centre for livestock farming.
The pitfall traps measure the insect biodiversity, and the measurement is repeated 4-6 times per year. The audiomoth devices are installed on wooden poles and register bat and bird noises. The recordings are then analysed by an AI software to identify the species and their numbers.
The team is curious to know what results these measurements will bring.
